IGNITE is honored to have the privilege of working with over 25,000 girls since 1999. The inspiration for IGNITE is these girls and their desire for learning, achievement, and having a great deal of fun while doing it. Over the years we have hosted hundreds of events and field trips with the girls and the results have been significant. The average rate of girls entering computer science courses post IGNITE events has risen dramatically. The results from thousands of IGNITE event surveys show that the majority of the girls were not aware of opportunities in technology and engineering prior to coming to an IGNITE event. Most importantly, over 50% of the girls say that after coming to an event they are now interested in pursuing a career in technology.
