Britney Freer
Bethel High School, Class of 2015

I came to an IGNITE luncheon event as a sophomore in high school, with an open mind and not really sure what I wanted to do when I graduated from Bethel High School. One of the engineer presenters who spoke at the event sparked an interest for me.  I soon enrolled in engineering and power sports equipment courses at school. I took an interest in the high school robotics team and in my senior year became President of the club. At the end of my junior year, I applied for a paid Boeing internship and was selected. I spent an exciting and educational summer as an intern at Boeing in the Skin and Spar department. This internship helped me to make the decision for my post high school plans which included an apprenticeship at Boeing as a college student, and college to earn a Mechanical Engineering Degree. I graduated with honors from high school in 2016 and was offered a full time position at Boeing.  While working, I am currently taking college courses to fulfill my goal as a mechanical engineer. I continue to volunteer in the Bethel School District. I am now one of the IGNITE presenters and I assist with the district wide robotics competition at the Bethel Tech and Art Fair each year and will do so again this year. I am so happy to have met IGNITE 5 years ago!
