Paige is in her tenth year teaching math in Seattle Public Schools. The majority of her teaching was spent at South Lake High School where she served as Math Department head, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports lead, and Building Leadership Team (BLT) member. She currently teaches AP Calculus and Algebra at Cleveland High School where she also serves on the BLT. For the past seven years, Paige has volunteered her time on most Saturdays to provide her students with access to free math and English language tutoring to help close the opportunity gap.
She is passionate about collaborating in developing Project Based Learning opportunities to engage students, especially her students who identify as female and her students of color, in STEM, making the learning accessible, rigorous, and applicable to her students’ lives. In addition to making the learning relevant, she also believes that relationships with students, families, other educators, and community partners, is key in supporting student success. When Paige is not teaching or tutoring, she enjoys cooking and eating spicy food, volunteering with her Lambda Theta Alpha sorority sisters, listening to Dave Ramsey podcasts, and learning Spanish.
