DESCRIPTION:\nEducators, be sure to take our short educator training before signing up for this event.\n\n\n\nOnly teachers, counselors, or adult staff members at a school can sign up for IGNITE events. If you are a student, please let the IGNITE Educator at your school know that you are interested in this event. If you don’t have IGNITE at your school, please email contactus@ignite-worldwide.org to get started!\n\n\n\nStudents will visit the Afiniti offices in Washington DC, where they will participate in a hands-on workshop introducing them to the basics of artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML). Students will explore three AI experiments, including trying their hand at Rock, Paper, Scissors against Afiniti’s AI bot and teaching a machine to learn to recognize and distinguish between objects and sounds! Afiniti mentors will give a brief introduction to Artificial Intelligence, and students will have an opportunity to hear from a panel of AI/ML professionals, followed by a Q&A session. All students who attend will receive Afiniti swag!\n\n\n\nAfiniti is a world-leading applied artificial intelligence company that uses patented technology to pair customers and agents based on how well they are likely to interact, making moments of human connection more valuable. Using customer- and agent-specific information and over a hundred more data elements, they are focused on creating the best possible user experiences. All in way less than a second! \n\n\n\nThis field trip is open to students in grades 6-12 in the Washington DC region.\n
