DESCRIPTION:\nInspire IGNITE Students in STEM during an IGNITE Panel at Illahee Middle School at 3600 S 344th Way, Federal Way, WA 98001!\n\n\n\nIGNITE aims to increase gender diversity in high-wage/high demand STEM fields, such as technology and engineering. Illahee serves a diverse student population, with a high percentage of Hispanic and African American students. Students at Illahee speak languages including Spanish, Dari, Poshtu, Ukrainian, Russian, and Korean at home. Women, nonbinary, transgender, agender, and genderqueer professionals who represent these perspectives are highly encouraged to sign up as Panelists to share their stories and answer student questions!\n\n\n\nThis is an incredible opportunity to change an IGNITE student’s life! After signing up as a panelist, volunteers are required to complete our Panelist Training at least once per school year and attend a live, interactive Virtual Panelist Coaching Session if they have not attended one in the past. \n\n\n\nThe total time commitment is about 2 hours of pre-event preparation for new Panelists and 30 minutes of preparation for returning Panelists, in addition to 1.5 hours for the event itself. Training must be completed by March 23.\n\n\n\nApproximate time commitment:\n\n\n\nNew Panelist: 3.5 hours – 2 hours prep (training, coaching, materials review) + 1.5-hour event\n\n\n\nReturning Panelist: 2 hours – 30 minutes prep + 1.5-hour event\n
