Interactive Stormwater Design Workshop with McInnis and ESM

Stormwater Design Workshop with ESM and McInnis

Only teachers, counselors, or adult staff members at a school can sign up for IGNITE events. If you are a student, please let the IGNITE Educator at your school know that you are interested in this event. If you don’t have IGNITE at your school, please email contactus@ignite-worldwide.org to get started!

Educators, be sure to complete our short educator training before signing up for this event.

Give your students a glimpse into stormwater drainage design and why it is so important here in the Puget Sound. A mobile water table will help illustrate how pollutants enter the rivers, lakes, streams, and oceans. Students will engage in a discussion of the role of a civil engineer in this concept and brainstorming on ways that they can assist with stopping pollution before it starts.

McInnis Engineering is a local civil engineering and survey firm specializing in private development and public projects in the South Puget Sound region. Engineering and land survey is in high demand here. McInnis prides itself on helping to bring excellent, community-based projects to Western Washington, being a high-quality firm interested in developing talent from the local area, and in working with excellent firms and clients. Volunteers are excited to help young students in their area learn more about the opportunities that await them in the civil engineering and land survey industry in this area. This Workshop is available in person at your school for grades 6-12 in the Seattle and Bellevue areas, South Sound (Olympia to Tacoma), and Kitsap Peninsula.
