Microsoft STEM Workshop – You Choose!

Only teachers can sign up for IGNITE events. If you are a student, please let the IGNITE Teacher at your school know that you are interested in this event. If you don’t have IGNITE at your school, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to get started!
Join a team of STEM professionals at Microsoft for an interactive workshop! When signing up, choose the workshop topic and a 90 minute period that is the best fit for your students and IGNITE will reach out to you to confirm the event details.
Girls and non-binary students will learn 21st century STEM skills and work closely with Microsoft professionals for a hands-on activity. After the workshop, students will hear from an inspirational panel of women who work at Microsoft and engage in a questions and answers discussion.

Learn to Code with Microsoft Small Basic (Web Version)- Choose from a variety of fun coding workshops that can be adjusted to fit different experience levels. Types of coding workshops on Small Basic include ‘Program Your Own Ping Pong Game’, ‘Teach Your Computer to Paint’, and ‘Program Your Own Guessing Game’.
Design 101: Creating Great User Experiences – Learn how to make devices, websites, and apps easy to use! This workshop covers User Experience (UX) Design fundamentals, including design thinking, design best practices, and accessible design.
Troubleshooting 101: How to Fix Common Computer Problems – We rely on technology to do almost everything, but sometimes it doesn’t work how it’s supposed to. Students will learn how to see computers like puzzles and fix common computer problems, and discover what career choices this skill provides.
Data 101: Making Discoveries With Data – Data is everywhere around you – at school, in music and entertainment, on social media, and more! Students will learn how to collect, visualize, and analyze data to discover insights and inform decisions. Students will also hear about many amazing data career opportunities.
