Dear Milliman Team,

We thank you for sharing your day with our students who left inspired for their future.  First and foremost, thank you to Mr. Stephen White, CEO and Kathy Derby and all your amazing and strong women who served as important role models. Kathy Derby met us in the lobby and welcomed all of us with a big smile.

The challenge activities provided a opportunity for students to choose their challenge from the following:  Coding in R, Gender Pay Gap, Risk Management and Pizza Challenge to name a few. Then they worked on the challenge with several staff with expertise which stretched students critical thinking skills, problem solving and presentation skills. The staff provided a baseline of content or taught a concept, then they took a deeper look at the challenge.

During the panel Q&A students had an opportunity to listen to the real challenges and successes they had in their respective fields before they came to Milliman and what brought them to Milliman. The time each person took to share their journey is going to have an impact for these women’s futures.

Nowadays, students have many choices in their educational and professional journeys, so this event provided some true and meaningful insights in their future options and also created an interest in math. Thanking you all, again!
