IGNITE Field Trip to T-Mobile

On April 23, 2026, students from TAF @ Saghalie participated in an IGNITE Field Trip at T-Mobile, where they explored careers and innovation in a real-world tech environment. Supported by Educator Courtney Grim and Volunteer Veslava Ovendale and her team, this Field Trip offered students a hands-on introduction to accessibility design, user research, and career pathways within the tech industry.

Students spent time in T-Mobile’s accessibility design room, interacting with tools and features that help make technology more inclusive. They also took part in a brainstorming activity where they tackled everyday problems and learned how to identify the right people to interview for feedback, an important part of the design process. The visit wrapped up with a panel of T-Mobile employees, where students asked thoughtful questions about school experiences, career decisions, and what paths panelists might have taken if they hadn’t entered tech. Panelists shared that it’s normal not to have everything figured out early on and emphasized that exploring different classes and interests can help shape future careers.

The day stood out for its interactive elements and honest conversations, giving students a clearer sense of how their ideas and experiences can connect to opportunities in STEM.

Today’s event inspired me to know my dream, but not put too much pressure on myself in doing so. I am more into STEM than before.”
