Sea levels are rising! Come join us on a waterfront tour and conversation to understand what the Port of San Francisco is doing to protect our City, and learn from the women who work or consult for the Port! The Port manages the waterfront as the gateway to a world-class city, and advances environmentally and financially sustainable maritime, recreational and economic opportunities to serve the City, Bay Area region, and California. https://sfport.com/wrp
The field trip will start with a waterfront tour around the Ferry Building, where the students will learn about the shoreline history, the risks we are facing, and what the Port is doing to address the risks. The group will then join a panel of women professionals at the Port offices at Pier 1 to discuss STEM career paths at the Port. Finally, we will wrap up the day with a round-up lunch where the students will talk directly to professionals about STEM career paths at the Port!
- All participants will receive pens, pencils, and stickers swag!
- Signed photo release from parent or guardian is required from Port of San Francisco
