Inspire IGNITE 6th – 12th grade Students in STEM during an IGNITE Panel at Muckleshoot Tribal School at 15209 SE 376th St, Auburn, WA!
We are looking for volunteers to share their story on two 90-min Panels for Middle and High School students between 8:00am – 11:15am, each for 20 IGNITE Students. Ideally, volunteers will be able to support both sessions. If you are only available for a portion of the event, please share your availability upon signup. Note that the middle school panel runs 8:00 – 9:30am and the high school panel from 9:45 – 11:30am.
IGNITE aims to increase gender diversity in high-wage/high demand STEM fields, such as technology and engineering. Muckleshoot Tribal School serves a 100% American Indian student population. Women and gender-diverse professionals who represent these perspectives are highly encouraged to sign up as Panelists to share their stories and answer student questions! Tribal business leaders are especially encouraged to consider telling their story to students.
This is an incredible opportunity to change an IGNITE student’s life! After signing up as a panelist, volunteers are required to review our Panelist Training Video at least once per school year and attend a live, interactive Virtual Panelist Coaching Session if they have not attended one in the past.
The total time commitment is about 2 hours of pre-event preparation for new Panelists and 30 minutes of preparation for returning Panelists, in addition to 1.5 hours for the event itself. Training must be completed by November 11.
Approximate time commitment:
New Panelist: 3.5 hours; 2 hours prep (training, coaching, materials review) + 1.5-hour event
Returning Panelist: 2 hours; 30 minutes prep + 1.5-hour event
