IGNITE Worldwide’s Founder was selected as the winner of the National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity (NAPE)’s 2014 Unsung Hero Award. This achievement is attributed to her ongoing dedication through IGNITE Worldwide to promoting access, equity and diversity in education and workforce development.
The Unsung Hero Award honors a person who is a trailblazer who has demonstrated an ability to create and implement a vision for their area of influence or community. They have also managed major projects or programs, worked in the trenches daily, and made a major impact by ensuring diversity, equity and inclusion in education leading to high-wage, high-skill, in-demand careers and programs of study.
NAPE is a consortium of state and local agencies, corporations, and national organizations. Through its four main areas of focus—professional development, technical assistance, research and evaluation, and advocacy—NAPE strives to achieve its mission of building educators’ capacity to implement effective solutions for increasing student access, educational equity, and workforce diversity.
