On November 9th a group of 30 girls attended a career exploration trip to Redfin. These girls were able to participate in a web design activity and hear from a panel of career professionals. This career exploration activity helped to engage girls in careers in technology at various levels. The students were able to see the many possible careers that are available to women in technology while also getting empowered that they too can pursue these careers. This shift in awareness and opportunity to learn from career professionals was extremely meaningful for students. Once student reflected that “they talked about confidence; mostly in fields like technology because this is where they lack women”.
