Franklin HS 520 Bridge Tour with WTS Transportation You and IGNITE

WTS Transportation YOU Program held a 520 bridge tour on September 29th, 2016. About 27 attendees participated in the event, including 11 female students from Franklin High School and 11 WTS NW conference members. The group first visited the 520 Seattle office for a presentation by Densie Cieri, who is the SR 520 Deputy Program Administrator. The presentation focused on Denise’s role on the project, the purposes of building the new bridge, and challenges faced during the construction process, as well as Denise’s own personal career path story. Afterwards, the group headed to Evergreen Point Lid by bus for a tour of the construction site, including a tour into the bridge pontoons themselves. At the end of the tour, souvenirs from WSDOT and HDR were given to all the attendees.

I just wanted to thank you all for participating in our WTS TYOU/NW Conference Bridge Tour last Friday. It was so wonderful to have you all join us, and I hope you enjoyed it and learned as much as I did! A special thanks to the WSDOT team, and especially to Denise for her great presentation and Elena and Haylee for coordinating the details for us! And of course, thanks so much to our tour guides! For you Franklin High ladies, we are looking forward to our next lunch program with you! To the NW Conference attendees, what a great tour and what a great conference! Thank you for joining us, and I really hope our paths cross again soon, either personally or professionally.

To all, we will be creating a video of our tour for the WTS Gala in March 2017. I look forward to being able to share it with you. What a great memory to commemorate our tour experience together!

Thanks, again, and have a great day!
