Microsoft Coding Workshop (Elementary School)

Open to 4/5th grade girls and non-binary students.

Join us at Microsoft for an introduction to coding, using Microsoft Small Basic. The girls will learn professional-style programming as they command a turtle to create shapes like flowers and fireworks! After the workshop, the girls will enjoy pizza, salad, and dessert while they chat in small groups with women who work at Microsoft, including in Xbox, Windows, Office, Azure, and more. After lunch, a panel of women who work at Microsoft will tell their stories and host a Q&A with the girls, sharing how they got into their careers and what challenges they’ve had to overcome, imparting advice and encouragement. The event also includes free swag and goodie bags as gifts from Microsoft, which includes resources to continue learning Small Basic and computer programming at home.
