I really believe that all students need exposure to non-traditional careers— first hand mentoring from professionals in careers.
WHAT IMPACT HAS IGNITE WORLDWIDE HAD ON YOUR FEMALE STUDENTS?
The biggest impact I have seen is in the computer science program areas. In schools that have access to IGNITE, there are more girls who are taking courses in computer science and engineering.
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SHARE ABOUT IGNITE WORLDWIDE TO THE WIDER COMMUNITY?
I have had the opportunity first hand to see the time and effort that the staff at IGNITE, employers, and teachers commit to creating these worthwhile learning opportunities for students. They are exposed to strong, confident women in non-traditional industries in positions that spark the “I can”.
