Why are you involved with IGNITE Worldwide?
I care deeply about diversity, equity, and inclusion and have been dedicated to causes that promote these values. I am excited to help partner with IGNITE Worldwide on their mission.
What inspired you about this organization?
IGNITE Worldwide is doing incredible work helping empower girls and bridge the gender gap in STEM programs and professional careers. As Chief Legal Officer of The Conscious Inclusion Company, whose mission is to help companies and organizations incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion, IGNITE Worldwide is a perfect partner and another avenue for me to help bridge the gender gap in corporate America.
What would you want the wider community to know about IGNITE Worldwide?
I think everyone should know that this organization exists and that partnering is easy. You can volunteer 1 hour of your time to speak to students about your career. It’s low commitment, with high rewards. Get involved.
Bio
Megan Lutes is the Chief Legal Officer/General Counsel of the Conscious Inclusion Company, a company that provides diversity tools and training to organizations. Megan is also the Director of Legal for Convoy. Inc., a technology startup in Seattle, leading their commercial transactions team, employment team, and immigration group. Megan has both law firm and in-house experience at multiple companies ranging from start-ups to national consulting firms, to an international Fortune 500 company. Additionally, Megan is an Executive Board Member of the Association of Corporate Counsel and on the advisory committee for Center Force, an organization whose mission is to promote diversity and inclusion in the legal community. She was given the “Career Success in the Private Sector” award by the Women Leaders of Washington and is a regularly featured speaker and panelists at various summits and conferences. Megan lives in Seattle, WA with her husband and her one year old daughter.
