Migdalia Vazquez

Migdalia “Mig” Vazquez has more than 28 years of experience as a leader in education, bringing a passion for career development, coaching and instructional design to every role she takes. Since 2018, Vazquez has served as Campus President for Universal Technical Institute (UTI) in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Prior to her promotion to Campus President, Vazquez served as Director of Operations – Education and Director of Admissions at UTI Rancho Cucamonga in her more than 17 years with UTI. In 2006 and 2007, Vazquez won the Campus Admissions Director Sales Award each year.

Vazquez has worked in education since 1992, working in Student Services Director and Admissions Representative positions for colleges in southern California. The unique nature of watching students’ lives transform and being able to encourage people to pursue their dreams and have a career, versus just a job, has kept Vazquez entrenched and curious about the education field for nearly three decades.

Vazquez brings a people-centered approach to her role as UTI Rancho Cucamonga Campus President. Vazquez translates the importance of productivity and sound educational outcomes into community-building on campus, working closely with instructors to meet emerging student needs.

Vazquez plays an instrumental role in student retention efforts and campus-wide initiatives to drive student engagement. UTI Rancho Cucamonga regularly hosts student car show events, including car contests, and student appreciation events that recognize students for their achievements. The “In the Driver’s Seat” events at UTI Rancho Cucamonga give students the opportunity to learn more about subjects they’re interested in before graduation, through events and talks from professionals and UTI graduates working in the industry.

Vazquez holds a Bachelor of Science in Business degree from the University of Phoenix and an Associate of Science degree in Fashion Merchandise Marketing from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. While in fashion school, Vazquez considered a career as a shoe designer. As a college student, she started working in education, which ignited her interest in that field and became her chosen career path.

Vazquez was born in 1969 in Los Angeles, California, to Mexican parents and is fluent in English and Spanish. Vazquez and her husband Gustavo Valle have been married for 23 years. They have a 13-year-old daughter, Dalia. Vazquez and her family enjoy beach camping, hiking and being active outdoors.
