Tuesday, April 30, 2019 | Aki Kurose Middle School at SAP Concur | by Stuart C.

On April 30th, twenty-three girls from Aki Kurose got to visit SAP Concur at their Bellevue office! This was our school's second visit to SAP Concur, and they really rolled out the red carpet for us!

SAP Concur had five hands-on activity stations for the students, including Lego Robotics, Virtual Reality games, modeling of Concur products, Arduino 101 and Cyber Security experiences.

The girls were extremely engaged and fully participated in all of the activity stations. The girls also took a tour of the SAP Concur offices and met with one of their Technology Gurus.

After this, SAP treated the girls to lunch and hosted Panel discussion with women in STEM. The speakers told inspiring stories about obstacles they overcame to get to where they are now, including how they found their interest in technology.

The Aki girls were inquisitive and appreciated how honest the speakers were.

Our sincere thanks to SAP Concur and the entire volunteer team for hosting this wonderful event!

After attending this event:

86%

of girls/non-binary students are more interested in STEM

63%

of girls/non-binary students want to study harder to attend college and further their education

59%

of girls/non-binary students will investigate taking a STEM related course next semester

Here's what the students enjoyed most:
